Rachel Perlman '12

This spring Rachel Perlman (SNES '12, concentrating in sustainable development) was awarded the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional undergraduates who intend to pursue a career in the fields of science, math, or engineering. Rachel is the first SNES student to become a Goldwater Scholar. She was also named as an honorable mention for the Udall Scholarship, which recognizes excellent academic records and passion in environmental public policy, health care, and tribal public policy. As a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar, Rachel has conducted water quality research throughout her time at Cornell, and she plans on purusing a Ph.D. in environmental systems science.
